Our Teaching Method
Our own work and the scientific evidence tells us that one of the best ways of learning is by doing.
So when it comes to passing academic exams repeatedly practicing answering previous exam questions embeds your learning;
- A model answer is a demonstration of exactly how a question should be answered. So by comparing your answers with our model answers, you gain feedback and you understand how best to answer the questions in order to gain maximum marks.
This is what our approach is all about. We call our system The Q&A Method.
- These days academic success comes down to being very good at answering exam questions. So to do well you need lots of practice doing just that. You should practice repeatedly with past paper questions.
- You should then study our A* way of answering the questions. We teach using the test.
- This ‘deliberate practice’ approach breeds confidence. And it is confidence which calms nerves on exam day and enables you to perform at your best on the day of exam.
People learn by doing
A study conducted by educationalist Edgar Dale found that people learn best when they actively by doing. He called it the Cone of Learning. He found that people remember and learn 90% of what they do as opposed to 10% of what they read.
We believe that practicing with past papers and comparing your answers to our model answers is one of the best ways to prepare for your exam.
